Swine Influenza update
April 28, 2009

The World Health Organization has recently declared a public health emergency of international concern regarding a possible swine influenza outbreak in Mexico and the United States.  As of noon on April 28, 2009, the World Health Organization is not reporting any cases of Swine Influenza in Mongolia.   The Embassy is monitoring the situation and notes that the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control are not recommending any travel or trade restrictions at this time.

We encourage travelers to contact their airlines regarding possible travel restrictions including in transit countries.  Individuals who are sick, especially with fevers or flu-like symptoms, should consult with a doctor and their airline before traveling.
