The United States Marine Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC) Band will visit Mongolia

ULAANBAATAR - The United States Marine Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC) Band will visit Mongolia on a good will tour from 1–8 July 2009.  They will perform with the Central Military Orchestra of the General Staff of the Armed Forces at the Central Cultural Palace on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 1900; at Zuun Mod soum, Tuv aimag in the Concert Hall on Monday, July 6 at 1000 and at Unit 016 for the Mechanized Infantry Regiment at 1400; and at Altanbulag soum, Tuv aimag in the Concert Hall on Tuesday, July 7 at 1100 and at Unit 119 for the Chemical Unit at 1230.  The MARFORPAC Band will also perform with the Internal Troop Band at Unit 05 in Ulaanbaatar on Friday, July 3 at 1400.  They will then perform exclusively at the Beatles Monument between the Circus and State Department Store on Sunday, July 5 at 1400; and at the American Center, just east of the Circus on Monday, July 6, at 1500.  The Marine Forces Pacific Band is stationed at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay on the island of Oahu.  They spend much of their time traveling throughout the Pacific region and abroad, fulfilling their duties as musical ambassadors for the Marine Corps.  In addition to providing musical support for parades, concerts, ceremonies, and other official events the band is trained and equipped to fulfill its role as a provisional rifle platoon.  They come from all across America to do what they love – play music and bear the title “United States Marine.”  We are the Marines, and this is our music…
