Kids Day at the American Cultural Center

This past month the American Cultural and Information Center in Ulaanbaatar organized two “Kids’ Days” for 10th grade students from School #13 and 7th grade students from School #21.  The Center staff started the activities with a presentation on the geography of the US, US territories, the flag, national flower, national bird, Washington DC, American early history, July 4, branches of government, Barack Obama, the White House, and Statue of Liberty.  After the presentation, the group played games to review what they learned.  The students answered questions such as: What is population of US?  What is the biggest state?  Who discovered the American continent?   Who was the first president of the US?  What does the red color of US flag signify?   How many states are in the US?  The top 10 students received a book and audio CD as prizes.  The students were very enthusiastic and at the end of the program they said that they were very happy to learn so many new things about the United States.
