This is the most modern medical facility in Mongolia, equivalent to a U.S. general practice with all English-speaking staff. Appointments can be made. It has X-ray, ultrasound device and general lab facilities on site. Membership-based facility; non-members will be treated, but must pay US$90 to local doctors and US$195 to International doctors for a basic examinations and additional fees for medicine and other treatment. Can refer patients to specialists and other facilities if necessary.
SOS Medica is a clinic, not a hospital. No major surgical operations can be done there. They can arrange domestic or international evacuations, if required.

This Mongolian-run facility is the designated hospital for high-ranking officials of the Mongolia government. 24-hour ambulance service is available. Call for an appointment beforehand. Facilities are modern with a few private rooms with refrigerator and TV. Translation services are provided if an English-speaking doctor is not available. It is best to bring interpreter and someone to accompany you to supervise your diagnosis and treatment.

A new Korean Hospital, opened in December 2007. Doctors are Korean and Mongolian. Modern Facilities. Medical care is available at affordable prices to the local population as well as foreigners. A doctor examination costs 6,000 T. Very well equipped laboratory. Perform Computer Tomography, X-Ray, MRI. No emergency available. Ambulance on-site.

**HOSPITAL FOR INFECTIOUS DISEASE
Microdistrict 13, behind Black (Central) Market
Patients are referred to this hospital in cases of serious infections that cannot be treated at other facilities. This is generally not a general admission hospital, but NOW during the pandemic of H1N1 in Mongolia anybody who has symptoms of the flu is encouraged to visit the Hospital and get lab analysis done. There are standard wings, which charge local prices, and a private VIP wing, that charges 20,000 Mongolian Tugrugs per day.
An English-speaking doctor and nurse are provided in the VIP wing. There are 2 VIP rooms with 4 beds totally.

*NATIONAL MENTAL HEALTH CENTER OF MONGOLIA
This hospital is situated on the eastern part of UB, past the auto/hardware black market. It has a green painted roof. The building is very old, but surprisingly clean inside. They have 70 doctors, 94 nurses, 271 medical and technical workers. Some doctors speak English. Upon request, doctors provide anti-stress presentations, psychotherapy consultations for foreign citizens hospitalized at other hospitals. Inpatient treatment costs 18.000 T/ day.

The Achtan Elite hospital is one of the Mongolia’s first private general hospitals. Staff includes 30 doctors, 43 nurses. The Hospital houses 300 beds. **EAR, NOSE AND THROAT CLINIC
Valentina Aleksandrovna MD Nurse - 30 years experience in ear, nose and throat practice. She speaks only Russian with a little German from her schooling.
She currently works as a Doctor at the Russian school, and has private practice every day only between 3-5 pm. She uses the lab in the Russian hospital where she is practicing. She mostly uses medicines imported from Russia. In her practice she uses some magneto-electrical apparatus’ for diagnostics and treatments. She mentioned using special kerosene for medical purposes for cleansing the mouth, ears and nose but not for ingestion, nor inhalation.
