The U. S. Embassy in Ulaanbaatar is seeking applicants for the position of Roving Secretary of Management.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Serves as a Management Roving Secretary in the Embassy provides secretarial, clerical, and sometimes translator/interpreter’s services required in various offices of the Embassy. Position holder works on call basis under when actually employed (WAE) schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
2. Prior Work Experience: Two years of progressively responsible secretarial and clerical work experience in governmental, or foreign organizations or the equivalent is required.
3. Language Proficiency: Level 3 (good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required. Level 4 (fluent) Speaking/Reading Mongolian is required.
4. Knowledge: Good working knowledge of secretarial and clerical work is required. Good knowledge of Mission work instructions, rules and regulations.
5. Skills and Abilities: Must be able to use main computer applications.
ADDITIONAL CRITERIA
1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3. Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
4. The candidate must be able to pass a complete background investigation.
SELECTION PROCESS
When equally qualified, U. S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (AEFMs) and U. S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications abovementioned in the application.
