POSITION: Laborer (Grade: FSN-1)

WORK HOURS: Full time; 40 hours/week
The U.S. Embassy in Ulaanbaatar is seeking an individual for position of Laborer in the General Service Office.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Laborer performs various kinds of unskilled manual labor tasks including, but not limited to, installing residential and office furniture and moving light to heavy objects from place to place, is responsible for manual books of all equipments and appliances. Uses forklift in and outside of warehouse. Shovels snow, sweeps and washes walks and driveways. Assists skilled trades workers by carrying, holding tools and materials; may be detailed to work in any section of an overseas establishment that has need for labor assistance; uses hand trucks, wheelbarrows, shovels, brooms and simple hand tools.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
a. Education: Completion of elementary school is required.
b. Prior Work Experience: Some laborer experience is required.
c. Language Proficiency: Level I (Rudimentary) in speaking English is required. Level III (good working knowledge) in reading and speaking Mongolian is required.
d. Knowledge: Some knowledge how to use necessary tools
e. Skills and Abilities: Must be capable of performing arduous physical work
ADDITIONAL CRITERIA
- Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
- Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
- Current employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
- Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
- The candidate must be able to pass a complete background investigation.
SELECTION PROCESS
When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (AEFMs) and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.
