USAID Connects Mongolian and International Trade Specialists
In an effort to connect Mongolian and international trade specialists, USAID hosted a reception on December 4, 2007 to facilitate discussion of the Government of Mongolia’s (GOM) Working Group on the Single Electronic Window (SEW) for Trade Facilitation and the visiting technical Mission from Societe General de Surveiliance (SGS) and Crimson Logic by exchanging information and ideas. A single window for trade facilitation would bring together all trade related GOM agencies and private sector organizations that would speed up, simplify and centralize all administrative trade related processes. This would help increase transparency and efficiency while increasing the competitiveness of local firms in regional and international markets. SGS is a leading international operator and investor in successful SEWs for trade facilitation. Crimson Logic is a leading information technology firm that has provided IT services for SEW operations in many countries.
This trade facilitation initiative is another example of USAID support for Mongolia to expand its role in regional and international trade and to increase the country's overall attractiveness to foreign investment.
