Sacred Legacy: Edward S. Curtis and the North American Indian

In honor of the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the United States and Mongolia, the US Embassy announces the opening of the photo exhibition “Sacred Leagcy: Edward S. Curtis and the North American Indian” in Erdenet City July 30 to August 10. 

All work included in this exhibition is been drawn from the archive of the personal collection of Christopher Cardozo. This is largest and most broad-ranging Curtis collection in the world who is widely recognized as the world’s leading authority on Edward Curtis and his photography. From his archive of over 4,000 images Curtis prints most compelling and evocative 61 images had been selected. The images are representative of the diverse cultural geographic regions in which Cutis photographed and illustrate Cutis’ artistry in portrait, landscape and still life photography.
