Due to computer problems affecting the US Embassy in Ulaanbaatar (and many other US Embassies in East Asia) we are currently unable to provide any consular (visa or American passport) services. We are working hard to solve the problems and will resume visa and passport services as soon as possible. We regret any and all inconveniences caused by this disruption.
As soon as we are able to again issue visas we will contact all visa applicants who have had their appointments postponed and reschedule them for the earliest possible date. To do this we will use the contact telephone number that each applicant submitted with the visa appointment request form.
For American Citizen Services we can provide notarial services, registration and inquiries, on Mondays and Thursdays from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. As always, Americans with critical emergencies (severe illness/injury or death) can contact the Embassy for assistance anytime during work hours (329-095) or after hours and on weekends via the American Citizen emergency duty officer at 9911-4168.
Once again, we apologize for this situation and we will issue another press release as soon as we have resolved the problems.
