Asia Foundation Release of Corruption Report
The U.S. Embassy is pleased to receive the results of the authoritative new survey on corruption perceptions released today by The Asia Foundation. This survey provides more context and more information that shows clearly that Mongolian citizens believe corruption in Mongolia is increasing.
We hope that the survey will energize the Mongolian Government and Parliament to take concrete measures to fight all forms of corruption at all levels. During President Bush’s historic visit last November, he urged early passage of anti-corruption legislation as well as prompt and comprehensive implementation and enforcement. This new report follows on the release of the USAID-sponsored Assessment of Corruption in Mongolia last September. That report is available in English and Mongolian on the USAID Mongolia website: http://www.usaid.gov/mn/
