United States Agencies Collaborate to Provide Training for Mongolians
The U.S. Peace Corps implemented a three day workshop March 4 – 6 for representatives from aimags nationwide. The Project Design and Management Workshop allowed for Mongolian partners of Peace Corps Volunteers serving around the country to gain skills and knowledge related to the successful design and implementation of community development projects.
Funded in part by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Mongolia and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Project Design and Management Workshop benefited 54 individuals from 17 aimags. Budgeting, community assessment, resource identification and proposal writing were amongst the sessions delivered.
U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia, Mark C. Minton, and Peace Corps Mongolia Country Director, Ken Goodson, closed the workshop on Tuesday the 6th with a certificate presentation.
The Peace Corps is a United States government agency which provides Volunteers to serve in interested countries around the world. There are currently 104 Peace Corps Volunteers serving in Mongolia at the invitation of the Mongolian government. Volunteers work in close collaboration with Mongolian partners in areas of English Education, Health, Small Business Development and Youth Development.
