Mongolian Parliament Ratifies Millennium Challenge Compact

The U.S. Embassy applauds the Mongolian Parliament’s ratification of the US$285 Millennium Challenge Account Compact on January 15, 2008.  This step represents yet another milestone in US-Mongolia relations in this, the 20th anniversary year of diplomatic relations between our two countries and is an important step towards full implementation of the compact that will allow funding to flow to four projects agreed to under the compact: an upgrade to Mongolia’s railroad, an improvement in the vocational education program, assistance to the Mongolian health services, and a project designed to assist Mongolians to register their property with the government.
